In a world different from everyday life, there exist strange creatures called "Mushi", who possess powerful and unfathomable natural powers. Few people know about the existence of Mushi, including a Mushi expert called "Mushi-shi", named Ginko, who travels to know and understand these creatures. Each episode sees Ginko on a different quest to find new Mushi and understand their powers, while helping those affected by Mushi's interactions with humans. Ginko often finds himself dealing with complicated and dangerous matters, due to the strong and unpredictable power of the Mushi. In each episode, Ginko learns about the wider world and the greater power of the Mushi, while continuing to travel and maintain the balance between humans and these strange creatures.
